High Temperature Abrasion Resistant Materials

Premium materials designed for the high temperature and abrasion resistance of plasma sprayed coatings.

  • A-9660

A silicone compound that has a capable of heat resistance for extended period of time within the temperature range of -50 to 450 degrees F. It may be used for short periods of time at temperatures as low as -100 degrees F and as high as 600 degrees F. A-9660 also possesses excellent release properties, and it is used extensively in hot wax processes.

  • A-7350 Silicone Compound

Our silicone compound is capable of resisting, for short periods, temperatures from -100 to 600 degrees F. It should, however, be considered serviceable at temperatures of -50 to 400 degrees F.

  • Preban 3

Developed with both excellent abrasion resistance and outstanding flame resistance for masking applications. A black, non-marking blend of special elastomers, reinforced with server exotic fillers to a hardness of required durometer. Field testing showed that after 300 consecutive cycles of grit blasting followed by plasma spray, only moderate ware of the rubber surface had resulted. Conditions included #80 grit blown by 80 PSI pressure from a distance of four inches, and a common non-machinable coating applied by a 25 KW Metco gun from four inches.

  • Preban 5

Consists of a blend of specially selected elastomers compounded with a selection of carefully chosen chemicals and fillers designed to produce a high temperature, high abrasion masking material for use in plasma spray operations. Preban 5 has proven superior to Preban 3 for heat resistance in these operations. Like Preban 3, Preban 5 can be grit blasted and plasma sprayed without changing masks, resulting in substantial labor savings.

  • A-8763

Offers superior resistance to adhesion and bridging during plasma spray masking operations.

  • Preban M

An FDA-Approved elastomer blend designed for plasma spray masking operations. It meets the requirements for rubber articles intended for repeated use. It has proven to be non-toxic in cytotoxicity testing. This compound is intended for the medical industry and is not recommended for regular plasma spray operations.

  • A-9666

Our Silicone compound for plasma spray grade silicone formulation that offers superior release properties above and beyond that of our Prebans. Because of this, the problem of mask bridging during plasma spray processes is virtually eliminated. Unlike typical silicones, which can only withstand one cycle, A-9666 can be used for many cycles before being exhausted. This special formulation has a right tensile strength and a elongation.

  • A-9560

A silicone compound designed for extruded materials that are used for high temperature and high abrasion operations.

  • A-9600

A 600-degree F resistant material its principal advantage is that it does not give off toxic or highly reactive fumes at 600 degrees F. It is capable of resisting 600 degree temperatures for short periods of time or continuously for up to one hour. Frequent cycling or constant use over an hour results in the depolymerization of the compound (the coupound becomes soft and loses it elastomeric properties.)

Abrasion Resistant Materials

Developed for maximum dry abrasion resistance of shot peen or grit blast operations. Suitable for molybdenum anti-gall coatings and for airflow/waterflow fixture masking, core plugs and edge protectors.

  • A-7703 Shot Peening Material

Composed of a high mooney, high abrasion-resistant polymer formulated with specially selected reinforcing pigments and chemicals. It is designed to offer exceptional resistance to the abrasion caused by industrial shot media. This material has been evaluated and is being used by such companies as General Electric, Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and DePuy Orthopaedics (Johnson & Johnson).

  • A-4733

An FDA-Approved grit blast elastomer formulation that meets the requirements of CFR 177.2600 for rubber articles that are intended for repeated use. In addition, this compound has proven to be non-toxic in cytotoxicity testing. Intended for the medical industry where high abrasion resistant masking is required.

  • A-7700C (Cold Spray)

Composed high abrasion-resistant polymer formulated with specially selected for cold spray processes. (This compound was successfully developed for cold spray processes in collaboration with Raytheon Research Lab and Pratt and Whitney.)

  • A-6040

A urethane rubber compound with excellent resistance to vibratory finishing and wet media abrasion operations.

  • A-1550

A compound that is excellent for grit blast, airflow/waterflow fixture masking, core plugs, edge protectors and any application where elongation and compression resistance memory is required.

Chemical and Acid Resistant Materials

Chemical and acid resistance materials used for plating, ECM, acid, degreaser and commercial solvent applications.

  • A-3688

Along with A-2620, A-8770, A-3728 and others, A-3688 is just one of our many chemical and acid resistant materials that are used in plating and commercial solvent applications.

  • A-8770 Gasohol Resistant Material

Specially designed for use in gasohol. In laboratory tests, it demonstrated low swell and good retention of physical properties. It can also be used in most acids and many commercial solvents. It is not recommended for alkaline materials.

  • A-2620 Water Resistant Rubber

Specially formulated for use in applications involving continuous and periodic immersion in both hot and cold water.

  • A-48003

An FDA-Approved nitrile rubber compound that meets-the requirements of CFR 177.2600 for rubber articles that intended for repeated use.

  • PFR-94

This compound is a perfluoroelastomer which will resist nearly all chemical reagents, including organic and inorganic acids, alkalines, ketones, esters, alcohols and fuels. At the same time, it offers outstanding high temperature resistance (300 degrees C) which makes it ideal for o-rings, seals, diaphragms and other high quality parts.

A-4530, A-6755

High-density elastomer developed for vibration absorption. Suitable for machining operations where vibration dampening and sound suppression is required.
